Georgia winters may be mild, but your boat still needs proper care. Don’t let cold snaps catch you off guard—protect your boat with professional winterization. Prep now, so you're ready to hit the water the moment spring rolls around. Service includes:
Outboard Engines:
When storing your outboard boat on a trailer, tilt the engine all the way down to allow any residual water to drain from the lower unit—this helps prevent freezing and potential damage. We also recommend storing your boat with a full fuel tank treated with the proper amount of fuel stabilizer. A full tank reduces the chance of water forming from condensation. For added protection, spray fogging oil into the carburetors to lubricate internal engine components.
Inboard/Outboard (I/O) Engines:
If you're storing your I/O boat outdoors or anywhere temperatures may drop below freezing, it’s essential to fully drain the engine block and manifolds to prevent cracking. As with outboards, store the boat with a full fuel tank and appropriate stabilizer. Fogging oil should also be applied to the carburetors to protect the engine during storage.
Whether you prefer DIY maintenance or want expert help, our technicians are ready to perform all these services—and more. Bring your boat to us, and we’ll ensure its properly prepared for storage and ready to run when you are.
